The sewer jetter is a truck-mounted system that consists of a water tank, a high-pressure pump, a hose and a steel nozzle. The water tank holds a significant amount of water which is used to flush clogs, and the hose pushes the nozzle forward in a rotating manner through the sewer line to clean it.
To use a sewer jetter, attach the hose and place it about a foot into the drain and press the spray wand handle. The hose should be moved down the drain until you hear a change in water pressure, and then pull back on the hose half way so it cleans the sides of the pipe.
Different flow and pressures will be needed depending on the size of the blockage and the debris components in the blockage. Generally speaking, the larger the pipe, the higher flow will be necessary to effectively flush the entire blockage down. In addition, differences in hose length and diameter play a big role in what flow will work best.
